Yıldız İbrahimova’s Melbourne Concert

ATCP presents the voice of Europe ….

Grand-damе of Bulgarian and Turkish jazz, renowned vocalist Yıldız İbrahimova will visit Australia for the first time to bring you this series of very special intimate performances.Besides jazz, the Bulgarian-born singer of Turkish ancestry has also recorded Bulgarian, Turkish, Gypsy, and Russian folk songs. Her vocal range is about four octaves and she likes to play with her voice simulating various instruments from trumpet to violoncello. Her repertoire is also varied ranging from popular folk melodies to classical, modern compositions and jazz. In addition to her academical duties in various conservatories in Turkey, Bulgaria, France and Germany, she performs as a stage artist, plays in movies and participates in concerts all around the world.

Accompanying Yıldız İbrahimova on stage will be the highly acclaimed Turkish pianist Hakan Ali Toker as well as İbrahimova’s daughter, 12 year old Suna.
