21st Annual Turkish Weekend at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival Celebrates Turkish Culture in Victoria

The vibrant colors, sounds, and flavors of Türkiye will once again come alive in Victoria as the Turkish Weekend at the Tesselaar Tulip Festival marks its 21st year in 2025.
Established in 2005 by Hilkat Özgün and her family, the event began as a personal initiative to share the beauty and richness of Turkish heritage with the Australian community. Over the years, it has grown into a major cultural celebration, proudly organized by the Australian Turkish Cultural Platform.
Visitors can experience the full spectrum of Turkish culture — from the stirring rhythms of the Australian Turkish Mehter Band (the only one of its kind outside Türkiye), to traditional folk dances, live music, authentic cuisine, crafts, and vibrant displays. The event provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in centuries-old traditions while surrounded by the spectacular tulip fields of the Tesselaar Festival.
This year’s celebration is made even more special thanks to the generous support of Turkish Airlines, which is providing two return economy tickets from Melbourne to Istanbul. These tickets will be awarded through a special festival promotion, further strengthening cultural ties between Australia and Türkiye.
